Future developments

Voice and access technology is evolving rapidly. These developments will change the way in which we all access the networks and make outgoing landline calls. Our position as a reseller means that we are testing a wide variety of solutions from a choice of providers. We have ensured that we are partnered with forward-thinking suppliers which will allow us to offer these solutions to our clients.

We are also seeing the convergence of traditionally separate areas of telecommunications. We have been providing mobile, systems hardware and data solutions for many years, so we are ideally placed to help you understand how they can be integrated. These technologies, such as WiFi and SIP can help you improve the way that your business operates.

21st Century Networks

One of the most important changes in the market is the introduction of BT’s 21st Century Network. This programme is changing the call routing technology within the core BT network. Over the coming years this will greatly enhance the range of services that we will be able to offer you.

However, in addition to helping you realise the benefits that new technology will bring, we are also very aware of the potential pitfalls. The introduction of 21CN is already seeing some older products being withdrawn. From our close relationships with our suppliers and with industry groups, we can advise you of what withdrawal plans and timetables are in place and help you plan for migration to other products. This will minimise any possible impact to your business.

Local Loop Unbundling

Some operators are claiming to be already operating Next Generation Networks. These operators are taking advantage of a mandate by Ofcom, allowing them to install their own equipment within BT exchange buildings. The LLU operators then physically move the customer's line, reconnecting it to their own equipment.  This then connects the customer directly to part of the LLU operator's network, offfering possible cost savings as well as access to new 'Next Generation' services.

As with all these relatively new and emerging technologies, we are working closely with the leading suppliers within the industry. At the moment, this is only a solution for standard analogue telephone lines and some regulatory issues are still being ironed out.  As this becomes relevant to you as a business customer, we will be here to help you migrate if it will benefit you.
