An existing satisfied customer for Alternative’s networking and telecommunications solutions, Lark turned to Alternative to design, deploy and manage this innovative infrastructure. Alternative drew on its existing resources and skills to develop a unified, ‘device to data centre’ managed service.
As part of the £2 million managed services contract, Alternative is moving Lark’s data to a high availability, high performance data centre environment, which includes scaleable storage-on-demand. A state-of-the-art virtual desktop solution, and to complement the private cloud, Lark’s existing multi-protocol label switching (MPLS) network is being connected to the new resilient data centres.
Control through Visibility
Thanks to Alternative’s 24/7 NOC support, included in the solution, Lark Insurance has complete visibility and control over the status of the network and is able to spot and react to faults almost instantaneously which helps minimise downtime and reduce costs.
End to end accountability
Alternative appointed a dedicated team who works with Lark to ensure end-to-end accountability from initial planning to execution and ongoing monitoring. The project manager also ensures that each step of the project met the requirements to deliver the desired business outcome. This is supported by a robust SLA.
This end-to-end managed service solution is set to redefine the way Lark manages its business. The resilient, high performance and adaptive IT infrastructure will support the roll-out of Lark’s broking applications, improving performance using newer technology. It will also enable Lark to focus its skills and resources on doing what it does best—providing clients with a dedicated personalised insurance broking service —while leaving the management of its IT infrastructure in the hands of Alternative.
