Alternative Networks plc is incorporated in the UK. It is one of the country’s leading providers of IT solutions to businesses in the UK, from device to datacentre. We offer a broad portfolio of IT technology and telecommunications managed services, including cloud computing, virtualisation, managed hosting, fixed line voice, mobile, systems, IP networks and complex billing software solutions.

Everything we do is aligned to our customers’ desired business objectives and therefore each solution is designed with the client, with full visibility and control enabled at all times and end to end accountability.

Established in 1994, Alternative is one of the leading independent businesses in the industry, founded on a robust management infrastructure with the original management team still playing a central role in the day-to-day operations and development of the Group. The company floated on AIM in 2005.

Alternative employs over 600 people in the provision of a complete communications and technology portfolio. The Group enjoys close working partnerships with world-class, best-of-breed product suppliers. This allows us fast and reliable industry knowledge and access to the latest technology, as well as the commercial flexibility available from a wide range of vendors.

The Group’s strategy is to deliver growth organically and through ‘right fit’ acquisitions to become the leading IT managed services provider for UK businesses.

Alternative Networks has made six key acquisitions since 2002, most recently acquiring Intercept IT, a leading cloud computing and virtualisation service provider, and ControlCircle, a provider of complex managed hosting and cloud-based services. These acquisitions were completed in January 2014 and are a significant addition to Alternative’s product offering. Both adhere to the Group’s strict criteria of acquiring businesses that are successful, growing, cash generative and profitable, as well as providing cross selling opportunities for the Group.
