Working away from your office is no longer a barrier. Since the development of 3G networks, the same information can be accessed away from the office as it can be when working from your desk. Getting connected to the Internet is simple and your IT department should be able to set up your VPN to your company network.
There are two types of datacards.
- USB modem - Plugs in to the USB port on your laptop and gives data transfer speeds of up to 7.2Mbps
- Mobile broadband (3G datacard) - Connects via the PCMCIA slot (an inch long port usually found on the side of your laptop)
