Mobile twinning

Mobile twinning provides freedom from the desktop, giving users a one number and one voicemail solution.

When a call comes in it simultaneously rings both the deskphone and mobile handset. Calls can be answered immediately by whichever device the user chooses. With 28% of employees using their mobile phone as their primary work phone (Source IDC – May 06) it’s not hard to see what a positive impact this will have on colleagues and customers alike. It can help answer more calls first time and provide a better service to clients.

It is less frustrating for callers who can now dial one direct number and leave one message, reassured that it will be picked up. This removed the need for leaving two messages; one on the deskphone and dial again to a mobile leaving a second message, wasting time and incurring additional costs.

Using the Mitel 3300 telephone platform users can manage voice messages through one access point. Once a caller leaves a voicemail on the centralised voicemail platform it can be retrieved either via the deskphone or converted into a WAV file and sent as an email attachment to the users email inbox. The user then has the option to retrieve the message from their BlackBerry, as part of the data bundle tariff, and hence there is no need to access or pay for message retrieval.
